Searching for References to Methods/Processes/Runnables

In the Component Manager, open the database or workspace you want to search.

Do one of the following:

• From the Edit menu, select Search.
• Press <Ctrl> + <q>.

The Search window opens.

3. In the Enter a string field, enter the name of the method/process/runnable entity you are searching for.

   * activates a case-insensitive wildcard search. You can place one or more * anywhere in the search string.

   If you enter no wildcard, and no item matching the search string is found, the system automatically inserts wildcards at the beginning and end of the search string.

   EXAMPLES

   wildcard position example search result example beginning of <search string> *proc item names ending with <search string> toggle_proc Proc end of <search string> calc* item names beginning with <search string> calc_CANLoop calc inside <search string> c*e item names beginning and ending with the specified explicit characters, and 0 – n arbitrary characters in between CallMessage compute no wildcard exit item names identical to <search string> (if no matching items are found: item names containing <search string>) exit (exit_proc Lin_ExitCode) more than one wildcard x*1* combined results of all wildcards x1 x_calc1_v2

   The combo box of the field contains previous search terms, which you can select.

4. In the Select what you are looking for combo box, select References to method/process.

5. Click Find to start the search.

   The methods/processes/runnable entities matching the search string are displayed in the Browse Senders of window, together with the components referring them. You can double-click an entry to highlight the component in the Component Manager and open it in the respective editor.

6. In the Results field, click one of the results.

   The components that call the selected method/process/runnable entity are listed in the Senders Of field. You can click one component to highlight it in the Component Manager.
